More about VBS
Founded in 2008
The Central Valley's Premier Burlesque Collective
Bringing the sass and class of burlesque to Fresno, the Valley Burleque Society invites everyone to enjoy the fun of this very American art form.
Intrepid adventurers Amanda Allure and Joie de Vivre, with their trusty companion Captain Saucy Beard, braved early mornings and weekend traffic EVERY Sunday for a number of months to travel several hours and learn about the Brave New World being forged in modern burlesque.
Already possessing several years of entertainment experience under their belts, they brought their new love home to the Central San Joaquin Valley, found a number of fellow enthusiasts among their new students, and launched the Valley Burlesque Society.
After only 4 years, many VBS alums continue to perform all over, some having gone on to become pinup models, others performing throughout the state and beyond, as well as launching more local burlesque productions.
The Valley Burlesque Society continues to produce shows 4 times a year as well as encouraging audiences and dancers alike to learn more about this lovely, exciting, and entertaining art form through classes, workshops, and individual study and research.
The Valley Burlesque Society... it's VBS for grownups!
A collective of dancers, musicians, entertainers, AND audiences who love to see the fun and frolic of burlesque on local stages!
Full Burlesque shows are produced by The Valley Burlesque Society in the fall (around Halloween), during the winter holiday season, in the early spring for the Rogue Festival, and in late spring/early summer. Burlesque instruction is available twice yearly in the spring and fall for 8 week courses in the Basics of Burlesque. Private instruction is always available. Referrals for burlesque style entertainment for events, parties, and other functions are available. In the future we hope to sponsor workshops and other events in and around the Fresno area.
