Celebrating 6 Sexy Years
Putting The T&A in Literature!
Reading? In the Nude?! But Why?!
Wow! Six gloriously sexy years reading in the buff already? My my how time flies when you're boob deep into the latest book series you've had your sapiosexual eyes on.
I honestly never imagined after finding the International Read Naked Movement, just over five years ago that anything would've came from it thus far locally but with many book loving friends willing to join in just last year alone along with friends in the burlesque circles preparing to take it off and read live on stage with me for the sake of literacy, I have to admit I do hope we do the creator Michelle L'amour proud.
In a world this fixated on self destruction and the approaching downfall of human civilization in the west, it's now more essential than ever to ensure that literacy and reading books in a day and age where most are in love with the ideology of ignorance to be quite the rebellious act towards intellectual liberation.
So why not defy future regimen overthrows as the empires fall and rebuild for yet the billionth time in human civilization, as they say Drink the Wine and let the World be the World. At least for one day we can put down our signs of protest against oppressive authoritarian overthrow's in government by diplomatically and radically protesting in the one way that the world always seems to thrive.
With our brilliant and knowledge filled minds.
As you very well know we can't spell Literature without T&A! So let's get cracking shall we (No, not book spines please, that isn't very nice) and take a look back at previous year's reading selections before diving into the old world with this year's lucky pick for International Read Naked Day!

The Origins of Reading Naked:
For centuries, being able to read was a mark of privilege and progress. Those who could read were held in high regard. Being able to devour books and literature at your leisure was set aside for the upper classes. Sometimes, even owning books was dangerous and could get you killed.
As time marched on, literacy became more and more prevalent until now we take the that very skill for granted. As a culture, we no longer savor reading. We no longer touch it with our whole bodies. At best, we may read in passing, at as high a speed as we use our social media. Any “literature” longer than 140 characters might as well be War and Peace assigned by a teacher that hates us.
What a shame! Reading is a sensual, ritual experience – or at least it should be. We should set aside time, set the stage, treat books like lovers…
That’s why we, the international literary salon Naked Girls Reading, have decide to make July 5th READ NAKED DAY Join us in removing the obstacles that hinder your freedom to read as a ritual. Doff your clothing on July 5th and get in touch with one of the most powerful forces in history – the reading of the written word.
We invite you to take part by simply reading naked. That’s it. If you’d like to be even more involved in bringing focus back to the ritual of reading BECOME A READ WARRIOR and help us get the word out. Start a naked book club. Get your local books stores involved. Because if there’s one thing we at Naked Girls Reading know for sure:

This Year's Read Naked Selection
A Storm of Swords
by George R.R. Martin
It's no secret that I'm quite infatuated with cosplaying the role of Ros of Winterfell so why not revive the most infamous redhead in Westeros for a lovely stroll through memory lane for those of you who have yet to read the books. I highly recommend doing so as we have quite the seasonal break before the grand finale of the television series returns next year.
I received this lovely collection as a gift a few years ago when I was enthralled with the series and as of now I'm in the midst of the thickest battles scenes that one has witnessed on screen but has never truly felt until they walked through the eyes and lives of nearly every single beloved character in the literary series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George. R. R. Martin.
What was remarkable about the first book in the series A Game of Thrones, was the vivid accuracy that mirrors the television show to it's very nuance and subtle details. The second book A Clash of Kings was also a wonderfully illustrative read and further expanded backstory of where our favorite characters i.e. The Mother of Dragons which I never would've imagined being so much more than the series accurately depicted but here I am now in the midst and middle of A Storm of Swords and I must confess I haven't been able to read anything else since I started this series last Spring.
From vivid imagery, each delicate scene orchestrated to make the reader feel as if they're a ghostly watcher on the wall of the next battle or epic power play move within the seven kingdom's I find it's nearly impossible to focus on much else other than the immersive nearly live action role play view that the author so generously illustrates word, for word, from character perspective to shifting head space within an entirely new person in just the next chapter.
For me this series truly is epic and eternal and still weaves a wicked web of intrigue, perversity, death, deception, love, lust and endless desires to devour every last sumptuous meal that is painted like an elegant scenery and real life view into the world of this extensive series. From finding it to be the perfect escape when life's mundane expectations demand my presence in throne rooms in my very own kingdom, to truly feeling and experiencing the great losses that each character faces is a profoundly transformative aspect that I never expected. Not only has this series helped me to heal immensely from personal pain and previous hellish experiences in life but you truly know the author is brilliant at depicting worthwhile characters when you find yourself tearing up when one or a few dozen of them die.
As I find myself right in the middle of the approaching doom that has yet to visit in the book series thus far, I find myself on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what wild and expanded experience will happen next in this endless journey towards who will reign as the Queen or King of Westeros and rule the Seven Kingdoms on the Iron Throne.
As for now, all I can say dear readers is that I do so hope you enjoyed my portrayal of Ros and that you find yourself immersed in this series as heavily as the rest of us bibliophiles of the old world do; not only in this series but in pretty much any book we can get our knowledge hungry hands on.

I decided to channel creative ideas into a profound and insightful discussion about the importance of reading and the demise of culture and society due to our current society shunning such a sensual ritual pleasure, and in turn not only received standing ovations, endless accolades and laughter while displaying my thoughts for the entire world to view along with my professor, I couldn't be more than elated to share this stimulating presentation that you're more than welcome to share to further inspire the bibliophile revolution.
