Celebrating 7 Years Reading Naked!
While putting the T&A in Literature!
Reading? In the Nude?! But Why?!
I honestly never imagined after finding the International Read Naked Movement, just over five years ago that anything would've came from it thus far locally but with many book loving friends willing to join in just last year alone along with friends in the burlesque circles preparing to take it off and read live on stage with me for the sake of literacy, I have to admit I do hope we do the creator Michelle L'amour proud.
In a world this fixated on self destruction and the approaching downfall of human civilization in the west, it's now more essential than ever to ensure that literacy and reading books in a day and age where most are in love with the ideology of ignorance to be quite the rebellious act towards intellectual liberation.
So why not defy future regimen overthrows as the empires fall and rebuild for yet the billionth time in human civilization, as they say Drink the Wine and let the World be the World. At least for one day we can put down our signs of protest against oppressive authoritarian overthrow's in government by diplomatically and radically protesting in the one way that the world always seems to thrive.
With our brilliant and knowledge filled minds.
As you very well know we can't spell Literature without T&A! So let's get cracking shall we (No, not book spines please, that isn't very nice) and take a look back at previous year's reading selections before diving into the old world with this year's lucky pick for International Read Naked Day!

The Origins of Reading Naked:
For centuries, being able to read was a mark of privilege and progress. Those who could read were held in high regard. Being able to devour books and literature at your leisure was set aside for the upper classes. Sometimes, even owning books was dangerous and could get you killed.
As time marched on, literacy became more and more prevalent until now we take the that very skill for granted. As a culture, we no longer savor reading. We no longer touch it with our whole bodies. At best, we may read in passing, at as high a speed as we use our social media. Any “literature” longer than 140 characters might as well be War and Peace assigned by a teacher that hates us.
What a shame! Reading is a sensual, ritual experience – or at least it should be. We should set aside time, set the stage, treat books like lovers…
That’s why we, the international literary salon Naked Girls Reading, have decide to make July 5th READ NAKED DAY Join us in removing the obstacles that hinder your freedom to read as a ritual. Doff your clothing on July 5th and get in touch with one of the most powerful forces in history – the reading of the written word.
We invite you to take part by simply reading naked. That’s it. If you’d like to be even more involved in bringing focus back to the ritual of reading BECOME A READ WARRIOR and help us get the word out. Start a naked book club. Get your local books stores involved. Because if there’s one thing we at Naked Girls Reading know for sure:

This Year's Read Naked Selection
A Feast for Crows
by George R.R. Martin
Oh what perils exist for a Ros Cosplayer when the books barely mention her existence within the profoundly enrapturing world created by George R.R. Martin. The moment we were all informed as fans that we'd have two entire years to agonize over the series finale, I instantaneously dived head deep into this illustrious world of intrigue, magick, mystery and carnality of the ancient worlds woven into a lush tapestry of asking myself where did the time go so swiftly for me to only be half way finished with book four in the series after a two year head start?
The series might be over and regardless of how the series ended in your favor or in your angered repulsion I find myself delving deeper and deeper into this intricate world and loving each and every character even more now that I can read and understand so much more of their internal dialogue in each and every one of my favorites scenes from the television series. What might've been misleading, confusing or quite infuriating for many watchers of the show well as they say Read the Books. Not just pretty words but most assuredly why so many of us fans were more than elated with how the series of eight seasons finally ended.
For me seeing the variations of when a character died much earlier in the books versus the series and so many nuances and layers to the story that are far denser in written word than on silverscreen has been by far one of the most intriguing journey's as I never found myself feeling sorry for so many of the villains as I have now that he's painted them into a much more tormented, self-loathing and mentally wrecked human character with each internal struggle that goes along within their own minds and those who are in the storyline who are quite close to them for better or worse.
What's most astounding is that even us readers are still anxiously waiting for the sixth and final book in the series of A Song of Fire and Ice. So why many of the visual fans are still pouting I find myself just as intrigued to dive eyes first into this exotic and illustrious world as each page, each chapter, each story from each characters perspective in the realm of those who seek the Iron Throne, is by far more intricately woven than anything I've quite possibly read beyond Shakespeare. To say that this storyline is over now that the show has ended really isn't doing the written series or the readers and visual fans justice for the mysteries to unlock and the longer storylines that prevail still in Westero's, Highgarden, The North, The Iron Islands, Dorne, Bravvos, Qarth and so many other places in this illustrious series are waiting for you now if you'll just brave the journey as I have this far in the spirit of Arya in that closing scene from the beloved and eternal series.
What are you waiting for?! It might be too hot and hellish outside to wander much or enjoy life to the fullest but my darlings today is International Read Naked Day! So why not celebrate in your birthday suit whether it's your birthday or not?

For Sexually Liberated Readers:
"If you go home with somebody and they don't have books, don't fuck em."
I decided to channel creative ideas into a profound and insightful discussion about the importance of reading and the demise of culture and society due to our current society shunning such a sensual ritual pleasure, and in turn not only received standing ovations, endless accolades and laughter while displaying my thoughts for the entire world to view along with my professor, I couldn't be more than elated to share this stimulating presentation that you're more than welcome to share to further inspire the bibliophile revolution.
I'm quite sure none of the above featured naked reading guests voted Republican.
